Casting & fly fishing lessons
- All clients involved in activities with me do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own health and safety.
- Clients are asked to disclose, in advance of any sessions and in complete confidence, any medical, mobility and health conditions (including allergies). Privacy policy is available here.
- When fishing clients will have the appropriate, valid rod licence.
- Any photos, videos or digital images taken during sessions will remain the property of The Adipose Fin.
- Clients are advised to wear suitable clothing, sturdy waterproof footwear and a hat or cap. Eye protection is essential. When wading I recommend clients wear a life jacket and use a wading staff.
- Clothing or personal safety equipment will not be provided unless specifically asked for at the time of booking.
- I hold a current first aid certificate and carry basic first aid equipment but am not qualified to dispense medicines.
- I have a catch and release policy for all wild fish to support sustainable fishing for the future. Barbless or de-barbed hooks are to be used when fishing rivers and wild fish lakes. All wild fish will be returned causing the minimum damage and stress
- A deposit is required to secure a date and purchase fishing permits on your behalf, with balance paid in advance of day of session via bank transfer or PayPal
- I guarantee I'll do my best to give you an enjoyable experience.
- I recommend a ratio no more than 2 clients to one instructor.
- I cannot guarantee the weather or that you will catch fish.
- In the unlikely event I have to cancel a booking a full refund of any monies paid will be given or the session rearranged at a mutually convenient date. Any refund is limited to the amount paid.
- Occasionally adverse weather such as severe winds, extreme cold, electrical storms, drought, flood, frozen water etc can affect fly fishing. The final decision to cancel a session due to adverse weather rests solely with me.
- When you book services and a deposit is paid no further booking will be accepted for that day. If you need to cancel or change a booking I will endeavour to accommodate that change and the following conditions apply:
- More than 14 day's notice – refund of any monies paid, less any expenses (permits etc), or an alternative date agreed.
- Less than 14 day's notice – loss of deposit if alternative date cannot be agree.
- On the day please phone me if you are running late. If I do not hear from you I'll wait for 60 minutes at the agreed meeting point. If you have not made contact in that time your session will be deemed to have been cancelled by you and any monies paid, less expenses, will be donated to charity.

- 1 person - £30 per hour ~ 3 hours miminum
- 2 people - £40 per hour ~ 3 hours minimum
- Larger groups – Price on application
- 4 hours ~ £120
- 6 hours - £150
- Larger groups – Price on application
- Prices exclude rod licences and fishing permits
- A mileage allowance may apply to travel outside my normal region
- A deposit will be needed to secure a date, with balance paid before day of session via bank transfer or PayPal
- Prices include the use of tackle if required
- A rod licence is NOT required for casting lessons
