With Christmas well behind us this was my first day out of the New Year and New Season. The River Dee was approximately 18 inches up and carrying very little colour. The day itself was cold and windy and no fly life to be seen anywhere, so the fishing tactics for the day were a Black Sabbath Moment in other words some heavy metal was required. The Grayling were lying close to the bottom so if the needs must you need to get your flies down to them, hence a lot of tungsten was used for flip flopping...
